Factors Affect Grinding Balls Failure
In ball mill, grinding balls are the most important grinding part. And the failure of grinding balls will cause various problems, so knowing the factors affect the failure of grinding balls and knowing how to reduce or remove the failure means a lot. In this article, we mainly introduce factors affect the failure of grinding balls in ball mill.
Inner Quality Of Grinding Balls
The inner quality of grinding balls includes the proper hardness of grinding balls, excellent impact ductility, high abrasion resistance and outstanding strength.
Matching Degree Of Grinding Balls And Scale Board
The relation between grinding balls and scale board is pair of contradiction. If we improve the hardness and abrasion resistance of grinding balls unilaterally, then the service life of scale board will reduce. For raw materials with low abrasion index, we should not adopt wear-resistant materials with high hardness and high alloy. While deciding the matching degree of grinding balls and scale board, we should consider about the abrasion index of raw materials. Different abrasion indexes need different grinding balls and scale board.
Feeding Size And Physical Properties Of Raw Material
The larger the feeding size of raw material, the larger of the abrasion value of grinding balls will be in order to reach the required fineness. In this case, the grinding efficiency will reduce. Because larger raw material need longer grinding time, then the consumption of grinding balls will increase. Besides, in the grinding process, the chance that grinding balls collide with scale board and grinding balls will also increase, which also will increase the abrasion of grinding balls.
And for the physical properties of raw material, the grinding time is in proportion to the hardness of raw material. In other words, raw materials with higher hardness need longer grinding time. So the abrasion volume of grinding balls is also in proportion to the hardness of raw material.
Ball Loading Quantity Of Ball Mill
The grinding process is finished through the impact and grind of grinding balls and raw material. The larger the contact surface between grinding balls and raw material, the higher the grinding efficiency will be. So there should be enough grinding balls in the ball mill. But too much ball mill will increase the abrasion of grinding balls and increase the living load of ball mill, leading to the reduction of grinding efficiency.
