Coal Screening Technology
The screen comprises of an endless trackmatic belt that travels over support rollers and is driven hy a head pulley coupled to a variable speed drive unit. The belt is guided by the machined grooves in the head and tail pulley. Tcnsioning is achieved by adjusting the tail pulleys.
A series of spray pipes are located between the feed box and head pulley. The undersize material drains through the cloth by gravity while the oversize material is discharged at the drive pulley end. The angle of the spray is also important and is set at right angles to the cloth. Coal screening technology is important in coal preparation operation.
Screening plant are used to group process particles into ranges by size. These size ranges are also called grades. Dewatering screens are used to remove water from the product. Screens can be static, or mechanically vibrated. Screen decks can be made from different materials such as high tensile steel, stainless steel, or polyethelene.
Screens are produced between 1000 x 2000 mm to 2000 x 6000 mm in several different standart sizes, from single to quartet deck. The screens up to 1200 x 4500 mm size are greese lubricated. Adjustable exantric weights makes the adjustment of the vibration amplitude, easy to change.
Coal Preparation Equipment
There are four basice types of operations used in coal preparation process, including milling, sizing, concentration and dewatering. Milling is the size reduction process, accomplished by crushing plant and grinding mill. Sizing is the separation of ocal into produces by difference in size, which can be processed by screening plant or classifying machine. Concentration is the heart of coal preparation, it is nomally processed in jigs, dense medium vessels, or shaking tables. Dewatering is the removal of suface moisture that clings to the coal's surface area.
