In the operation process of jaw crusher, sometimes, the raw materials might be pushed out from the feed opening. We called this raw material return phenomenon of jaw crusher. Under normal circumstances, the raw materials will be squeezed and crushed in the crushing cavity formed by the two jaw plates. But in the raw material return condition, the raw materials are pushed out of the feed opening by the two jaw plates. Many customers wonder why this happen and how to solve it. 1. Unbalanced Stress On Raw Materials

The raw materials in the crushing cavity stay balanced without moving up or down. When the angle between fixed jaw plate and movable jaw plate increases, the vertical stress applied to raw materials lose its balance and the force upward is stronger than the force downward. In this case, the raw materials will be pushed by the upward force to the feed opening.

2. The Actual Sizes Of The Spare Parts Do Not Match The Drawings

While processing and assembling the spare parts, if the sizes such as the length and width of the jaw plate, the length of the toggle plate, the angle of the toggle plate and the inner cavity of the frame, do not match their sizes in the drawings, the angle will increase. This may also lead to the raw material return phenomenon.

3. Too Wide Discharge Opening

For crushers in same models, if the discharge openings are different, the angles will also different. The wider of the discharge opening, the bigger the angle will be.

4. The Friction Coefficient Between Raw Materials And Jaw Plates

The sections of the fixed jaw plate and movable jaw plate are tooth-shaped in order to increase the friction coefficient between raw materials and jaw plates. If the friction coefficient is too big, it will be very difficult to crush the raw materials and the jaw plates will also damage badly which may lead to the raw materials be pushed out of the feed opening.

• 1. While processing spare parts, the manufacturers should strictly follow the drawings and make sure the spares parts reach to standard.
• 2. Recommend suitable jaw crusher according to the raw materials and other factors.
• 3. When the jaw plates wear badly, the operator should replace them.
• 4. If the sizes of raw materials differ greatly, the operator should screen them first and put the raw materials nearly the same size together. This will also effectively reduce the raw material return phenomenon.
